Umaru Aliyu Doma is an Almunus of the Harvard Business School, Boston, USA and a Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT Sloan, trained business executive and entrepreneur.
Umar read Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Minna , Niger state. He interned at the Corporate Planning And Development Division of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company, NNPC between 1999 and 2000.
He attended Baptist High School ,Jos, and Corona Private School, Bukuru , all in Plateau State.
An entrepreneur with interest in agriculture, engineering, telecoms, tourism amongst others, Umaru has varied experiences in the private sector.
Umar is Chairman, Oriya Farms Limited, an integrated agribusiness venture and Boltzman Engineering Ltd , a multi-disciplinary Engineering Services concern. An Independent Director of BCTEK Engineering Ltd , a Telecoms Servicing firm, Umar is Founder and President Hyatt Consult Limited.
He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, AIChE and Royal Agricultural Society of England, RASE.
A member of the Gamji Members Association, Umaru Doma is Founder of Omo’ Ogbayi Foundation, a non profit founded to promote education and skills acquisition.
Between 2005 and 2007, he served as Personal Assistant to the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council.
He was one time Special Assistant – Special Duties to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State.
He holds numerous traditional titles amongst which are the Garkuwan Doma and Ajiyan Keana.
Umaru is the Nasarawa State Governorship Candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, for the 2023 General Elections.
An avid reader and practicing farmer, Garkuwan Doma is married to his lovely wife Asma’u and is blessed with three children.
